Outs & Inning Limits

In most divisions of Little League baseball, there will be six innings played per game with three outs allowed per inning (however, games may end early due to time restrictions or mercy rules when one team has too large of a lead). An out occurs when three strikes have been thrown by a pitcher, four balls thrown by a pitcher result in an automatic walk. Teams switch back and forth between offense and defense after each half inning until six innings have been completed.
